Contrary to poppy Danish acts such as Raunchy, Volbeat or Aqua, The Psyke Project like shit dark and darker. There’s some melody buried in there but you’d have to take a real close look to find it and the question is whether you are man (or woman) enough to look that close.
It’s a little bit of post-everything but without the soundscaping that bands like Cult Of Luna like to dig into. These guys do take you on a trip but one where you get carjacked, beaten senseless and mugged. Personally I like a little melody here and there because things tend to get tiring if it’s all brutal violence all the time.
