From what I’ve read about these guys it seems that this Japanese hardcore band has already been around for quite some time. Seeing as this is the first thing I’ve ever heard from them, I can’t tell you whether or not they’ve changed their sound over the years.
What I can tell you however is that these dudes will pummel you senseless on their self-titled album with a set of songs that will appeal to all the Killswitch Engage and Unearth fans out there. Vocalist Sho has an amazing set of pipes that produce some rather gnarly sounds. He is backed up by a relentless rhythm section and two guitarists that shred from start to finish.
While they churn out some pretty potent metalcore, it is anything but original. Yet they play it with so much enthousiasm that I can totally see kids go crazy in the pit over Edge Of Spirit’s single-note breakdowns.
