Sabotage Soundsystem is the new collaboration between Pepper’s vocalist Kaleo Wassman and Remy “Dub” Derochemont, Pepper's soundman. Expect an album full of laidback dub tunes that reflect the island life. Their studio methods probably say it all… if things didn’t go smoothly, they put in a little surfing before continuing to work on the songs.
I’m not that much of a dub/reggae fan but “The Boto Machine Gun” is a fun album that features guest contribution from a couple of their friends including surf-filmmaker turned MC Chad Campbell aka Splinta who pitches in some of his surf bum raps. Which reminds me of the movie Splinter. You should check it out, it’s pretty cool and features a killer hedgehog!
