It hasn't even been six months since Coalesce's comeback album “Ox”. And yet they did feel the need to already follow it up with an EP.
Hey, that's fine by me. I still love me some good old fashioned metalcore like it was made in the days of yore.
With 'yore' I mean the nineties. When metalcore was still awesome. And new. And you still had bands like Coalesce. In their first incarnation. Or their second.
Oh well, sweet nostalgia...
By now, the band is on its fourth run. And well, it seems to be going well. So far.
The good thing is that Coalesce still owns. They still write awesome songs, with interesting hooks, sttrange rhythms and crazy riffs. And Sean Ingram still has an incredibly frightening/aggressive/impressive bark. So basically, “OXEP” is a damn good EP. And you should buy it.
