Yes, the endless struggle… many hardcore songs have been written about that exact phenomenon, just like there have been many hardcore songs that don’t sound all that different from what these dudes are doing. ’ These dudes’ are Gus, Aric, Matt, Vladimir and Hamlet. Despite the Shakespearian link there, we aren’t treated to any sonnets. And don’t even get me started about the lack of iambic pentameters!
What Knock ‘Em Dead does do is play some very aggressive metallic hardcore that sounds like they got their inspiration from All Out War, 100 Seconds and the likes. While they’re not exactly doing a shitty job, I did get tired of it all after just a couple of songs. There are only so much breakdowns, chugga chugga riffs and monotonous growls one can take at a time I guess.
