Llynch – We Are Our Ghosts

After two EP’s these Germans felt ready to go for the full-length. It took them three long years of locking themselves up in a room but finally they had written the ten songs that would make up “We Are Our Ghosts”. Like their (almost) namesake who makes very strange movies, Llynch makes very strange music that is definitely not for everyone. But if you are the adventurous type and have 64 minutes to spare, “We Are Our Ghosts” might be just the album for you.

With a sound that’s best classified as post-metal meets post-somethingelse, they paint soundscapes that go from mellow to loud in a matter of seconds. The vocals aren’t always what they should be but all in all I think it’s fair to say that “We Are Our Ghosts” is an album that should be able to please all the Isis and Cult Of Luna fans out there to a certain degree.
Score: 6.5 out of 10
