Screamy emo quintet Oceana present their 12-track offering THE TIDE, a bold venture for this young squad who has shaped their sound to nestle in between Underoath and Sparta. Tracks like "The Accountable" are crammed with tortured screams and sinewy riffs, while "We Are the Messengers" denotes the band is comfortable with the machine gun chug as much as they are making ethereal keyboard noises during a mountainous breakdown. While these young un's still have a way to go before carving out anything unique, their spirited stabs at making atmospheric music with hints of brutality creeping in will keep those in their age bracket well entertained. http://www.riserecords.com
