I liked this album as soon as I saw the cover… gotta love it! Presented as a poster for a sleazy exploitation flick, The Lords Of Altamont are back with full-length number three. The music itself wouldn’t look too out of place either in one of those movies… preferably played when the protagonist enters a biker bar that just spells trouble.
With a mix of hard rock, garage, punk and a little bit of psychedelica, these former members of MC5, The Bomboras and The Fuzztones crank up the amps and deliver a barrage of riffs, cool rhythms and even cooler vocals courtesy of Jake “The Preacher” Cavaliere who also has a habit of lighting his Farfisa organ on fire… both figuratively and literally.
Close your eyes, sit back and listen to “The Altamont Sin” while smoking a joint. I guarantee you that the go go dancers will appear in record time!
