Wolftron is another one of Kenny Choi’s (Daphne Loves Derby) solo projects and no, it has nothing to do with metal or rock n roll. Which was my first guess based solely on the name. Instead “Flesh & Fears” is filled with the kind of poppy songs that are excellent to lull you to sleep. In a good way, not because they’re boring.
The songs are dreamy, gently trickle along and the guitars, keys and strings are all nicely layered on top of one another. Just well-written classic pop. Add Choi’s vocals to that and you’ve painted yourself a pretty little picture that no one will object to.
