Unlike their debut album “Kezia”, Protest The Hero’s “Fortress” is not a concept album. Instead these young Cannucks wrote about the refeminization of deities. In their own words: ‘it has to do with Goddess Worship, and how there has been this degendering of the Lord and Savior, and the suppressed feminine’. Or as we like to call it: completely bonkers!
Yes, these guys are extremely technically skilled but they have a serious problem with writing songs. And if you don’t have songs, you’ve got… well, basically nothing. Okay, you can find some extremely cool parts in their crazy mix of prog, death metal and pop. But they are completely overshadowed by everything else that quite frankly annoys the fuck out of me.
Score: 5.5 out of 10

All your reviews are pissing me off. You don't even need to approve this comment. I just hope you see them, and realize that you are doing horrible injustice to some great albums. Please, for the love of god - stop reviewing metal. You can't do it. You are simply unable. Stick to hardcore, you're good at that. Great reviews there. but don't you dare give some poppy-ass excuse for deathcore like Whitechapel an 8/10 and then go embarrass yourself by saying "Protest the Hero can't write songs." Travesty. The fact that you review metal at all hurts my soul.
