“Still Living” is the third album by California’s Ganglians. Fronted by Jesus incarnated, these guys (I bet they call each other ‘dude’) play sunny and slightly psychedelic surfpop that sounds like the Beach Boys on acid, just not as good. Well, I guess we all know what that sounds like.
Like a soundtrack for a summer that never came, Ganglians throw catchy melodies on top of vocal harmonies that occasionally are out of key. “Still Living” is a fun-loving album that comes with a couple of good songs like “Jungle” and “California” but in the end things do sound a bit too much alike to keep things truly engaging.
