Holy shit! Neaera is back with a new album and as soon as opening track “” bursts out of the speakers, you know these guys mean business. Yes, this is melodic death metal with the occasional breakdown. Yes, it comes with screams, grunts, dual melodic guitar riffs they imported from Sweden, chugga chugga riffs and plenty of double bass drum action. No, it’s not very original. But fuck me if it doesn’t sound amazing!
With “Omnicide – Creation Unleashed” these Germans give their fellow countrymen in HeavenShallBurn and Maroon a run for their money and show that it’s still possible to make an exciting album in this genre. An album that on top of everything else comes with great artwork and – if you’re quick enough – a blood red CD.
