Tony Sly – Sad Bear

- by Thomas

Tony Sly is back with another solo album called “Sad Bear”. It did make me feel a little bit like a sad bear because the songs on here are plain boring. Don’t get me wrong, I love singer-songwriters. The arrangements on here however are very basic, even if they are enhanced with an organ or a tin whistle here and there. Basically, these are pop-punk tunes played acoustically which never really leads to the most exciting songs out there. And then there’s the fact that Tony Sly’s voice is a bit too limited to carry this kind of music.

I like the guy and everything he did with No Use For A Name but his solo output is wasted on me.
Score: 4 out of 10
