All you need to know about Becca is that she wrote all of the songs on “Alive!!” with the help of Meredith Brooks. Yup, from that hit song “Bitch” way the fuck back in 1997. Well, if you remember that song than you have a pretty solid grasp on what to expect from about half of the songs on this album. The other half wouldn’t look out of place on a Pink album. And if all that isn’t enough to make it obvious that this has ‘chick rock’ written all over it, then the cover of Cyndi Lauper’s “I Drove All Night” will definitely seal the deal.
The girl’s got a solid voice and the songs are catchy enough to be hits on the radio but it’s not really my thing. I doubt however 30-year-old cynical bastards are part of Becca’s target demographic.
