Hmmm, what to do with this UK four-piece? On “Age Of Denial” these guys might still be stuck in the first phase of the Kübler-Ross model, it’s pretty blatant to everyone else that these guys are simply ripping off Spiritualized, My Bloody Valentine, Jesus & Mary Chain and the likes. They’re actually pretty open about it, having named themselves after a Ride song and all. And you know, it’s not necessarily a bad thing because cuts like “Can’t See The Light” and “Sleep Heavy Tonight” are worth listening to. But the whole noisepop with hushed vocals worked just fine the first time around and I’m afraid that – for now – Sennen isn’t bringing enough new things to the table to truly stand out.
