Triptykon – Eparistera Daimones

The intro of opener “Goetia” may sound like a 12-year-old messing around with his first electric guitar that he just got for his birthday, but hidden behind Triptykon is in fact Celtic Frost’s Thomas Gabriel Fischer. Yes, THE Celtic Frost! There are probably still a bunch of metalheads out there who are waiting for this but I am not one of them.

Backed up by Dark Fortress’ Santura, some woman on bass and Fear My Thoughts’ drummer, Fischer tries to find his way through nine doomy black metal songs, the last of which drags on for 19 friggin’ minutes.

If Triptykon was just another beginning band no one would take notice. Since this is Fischer however, everyone seems to be ecstatic about an album that honestly really isn’t that good. Every single song is structured in exactly the same way, the riffs are boring and the vocals sound ridiculous.

Fans of “Monotheist” may still want to hear this, all the other metal lovers out there should most likely refrain.
Score: 5 out of 10
