As soon as opener “Sex On The Regular” pops out of the speakers, there’s this instant smile that appeared on my face. Okay yeah, the album title might have had something to do with that as well. But the synthy sounds and extremely poppy songs that Miniature Tigers produce on their third album are the main reason.
Ridiculously catchy songs such as “Afternoons With David Hockney” or “Boomerang” should be on every party playlist from now on, while a song like “Hologram Girl” plays like an acoustic daydream. I know that “Mia Pharaoh” is not very punkrock and a lot of you probably frown upon pop music, but Miniature Tigers prove that there are good things to be discovered in every single genre out there.
