Drive-By Argument – S/T
Drive-By Argument was formed during a university music course where names were randomly picked out of a hat. These guys stuck together though after class was dismissed, named themselves after a Family Guy sketch and dubbed their music four-to-the-floor unhappy hardcore.
What that means? Well, they’re an indie poprock band that likes their guitars with plenty of electronica (read: beats and things that go bleep in the night). The result lies somewhere between Enter Shikari with Bloc Party guitars along with the familiar sounds of the indiepop hype of the moment. Opener “The Sega Method” is pretty damn contagious and they manage to keep the momentum going on most of the album while closer “Cyclists Turn Red Lights” is truly memorable with a mellow 80ies vibe going on in the keyboard lines.
Score: 7.5 out of 10
