M-E-T-A-L… yeah baby! After seeing what a friggin’ joke a band like Judas Priest has become, it’s good to know that there are still bands around that like to keep the ‘rue metal flame alive (I wrote that with the horns high in the air!).
Take Saviours for example. What they’re doing is not exactly new but with a dual guitar attack so vicious, a rhythm section so tight and a vocalist so dark, they manage to keep my ears glued to the speakers for the entire duration of the album. These guys live for the riff !And if you’re hearing a lot of Maiden, early Metallica and some Diamond Head in there with additional High On Fire grit, you are absolutely right. So start banging that head already!
Score: 7 out of 10
